Overview:
The Worship Tech Lead is responsible for supporting and executing the technical and production needs of weekend services at our Grinstead Campus while assisting with church-wide Worship Arts preparation, programming, and technical support throughout the week.
This role ensures that audio, video, lighting, ProPresenter, and related production systems are prepared, reliable, and aligned with the mission, vision, values, and creative style of Northeast Christian Church. The Worship Tech Lead provides technical oversight, develops volunteers, and supports service planning. This position will report to the Worship Technology Pastor partnering to create excellent, distraction-free worship environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly Service Planning & Collaboration
· Participate in departmental meetings and programming sessions to evaluate services, understand upcoming weekend events, and identify technical needs with a focus on quality assurance.
· Attend Creative Team meetings to provide creative input and help ensure collaboration and cohesion among all creative elements for all campuses.
· Collaborate with the Campus Pastor and worship leaders at Grinstead to help curate weekend services and support the overall worship environment.
· Assist with preparation for weekend and holiday services, including reviewing service plans, anticipating production needs, and coordinating with key staff members.
· Maintain clear communication with leadership regarding campus needs, service readiness, and technical concerns.
Main Campus Support & Technical Stewardship
· Support the Brownsboro team with campus repairs, installations, maintenance, infrastructure, and other production related needs.
· Assist in maintaining reliable operation of AVL systems, equipment, and production infrastructure across campus environments.
· Steward production resources responsible by ensuring equipment is used, maintained, stored, and cared for appropriately.
· Help identify recurring technical issues, future equipment needs, workflow improvements, and opportunities for greater consistency across campuses.
ProPresenter, AVL, Programming, and Content Management
· Learn, program, and verify weekend cues and content for AVL needs, including MIDI, lighting, video, and related service elements.
· Create and upload host and sermon notes into ProPresenter and related AVL systems to support smooth and distraction free worship experiences.
· Ensure all campus content is prepared and ready for the Grinstead service before Sunday services.
· Participate in the weekend prep meeting and communicate any outstanding content or technical needs.
Sunday Service Execution at Grinstead Campus
· Power on and shut down all technical equipment.
· Load and verify all content across AVL systems before services begin.
· Oversee morning line checks, rehearsals, run-throughs, services, and Planning Center Online timers.
· Communicate effectively with teachers, worship leaders, campus staff, and volunteers regarding service needs and production details.
· Troubleshoot and maintain AVL equipment while providing overall technical oversight for the Grinstead Campus.
· Ensure Sunday production elements are executed with excellence, consistency, and a ministry focused posture.
Volunteer Leadership & Development
· Recruit, train, schedule, and develop volunteers for technical and production roles at the Grinstead Campus.
· Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and constructive feedback to production volunteers.
· Develop clear expectations, repeatable workflows, and operational standards for volunteer technical roles.
· Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, humility, servant leadership, and continuous growth.
· Identify and develop future volunteer leaders within the Grinstead production ministry.
Staff Development, Training, & Ministry Alignment
· Attend weekly staff meetings, theology trainings, Planning Center Online training, technical trainings, one-on-one meetings, and related gatherings.
· Develop a strong understanding of Northeast Christian Church’s mission, vision, values, and Love the Ville’ DNA.
· Continue growing in technical knowledge, leadership capacity, and ministry effectiveness through training, collaboration, and hands on experience.
· Support the broader Worship Arts team by contributing to healthy systems, consistent communication, and excellent weekend execution.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications
· Experience or demonstrated aptitude with live production systems, including audio, video, lighting, ProPresenter, and related AVL workflows.
· Ability to troubleshoot technical systems calmly and effectively in live environments.
· Strong organizational, communication, and teambuilding abilities.
· Ability to balance technical excellence with ministry focused execution and pastoral sensitivity.
· Familiarity with Planning Center Online and service planning workflows.
· Ability to recruit, train, lead, and encourage volunteers serving in production roles.
· Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Northeast Christian Church.
