Overview:
The Video Director is responsible for leading and executing all live video production elements for weekend services, ministry, and special events. This role provides leadership to volunteer camera operators, switchers, ProPresenter operators, and directors while ensuring that all video content and production elements support the mission, vision, and creative style of Northeast Christian Church.
The Video Director will continually improve systems, workflows, and visual storytelling techniques to create engaging and distraction free worship experiences. This position is part-time working up to 15 hours per week and will report to the Worship Technology Pastor partnering to execute excellent video production for weekend services, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Live Video Production
· Direct all live video production elements for worship services, designated ministry events, and special events.
· Oversee camera operation, switching, screen content, and live visual storytelling during services.
· Ensure all video production elements support the worship experience and enhance audience engagement without becoming a distraction.
· Maintain a high standard of excellence and consistency across all live production environments.
· Prepare service production plans and communicate expectations to volunteers and staff.
· Ensure live stream is operational and troubleshoot when needed.
· Volunteer Leadership and Development
· Recruit, train, schedule, and lead volunteer teams serving in camera operation, video directing, switching, and ProPresenter roles.
· Develop training resources and clear operational standards for all video production positions.
· Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and constructive feedback to volunteers.
· Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, servant leadership, and continuous growth.
· Identify and develop future volunteer leaders within the video production ministry.
Creative Excellence and Innovation
· Develop a deep understanding of Northeast's visual style, ministry philosophy, and production standards in collaboration with the Worship Tech Pastor and the XP of Worship Arts.
· Stay informed on emerging production technologies, techniques, and industry trends.
· Evaluate new creative approaches and contextualize them appropriately within Northeast's ministry environment and culture.
· Collaborate with leadership to execute creative vision effectively.
· Contribute ideas that improve visual storytelling while remaining aligned with the church's mission and brand.
ProPresenter and Content Management
· Organize and prepare all service content within ProPresenter, including worship lyrics, sermon notes, announcements, graphics, and media.
· Coordinate with the Communications team and Grinstead Technical Director to receive content for message notes.
· Build and maintain service playlists and presentation flows to support smooth and distraction free worship experiences.
· Train and lead ProPresenter volunteers, establishing consistent standards and workflows for content presentation.
Systems and Technical Stewardship
· Maintain a working knowledge of all video production systems, including switchers, cameras, routing systems, ProPresenter, playback systems, and related infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot technical issues and assist in maintaining reliable operation of production systems.
· Steward production resources responsibly, ensuring equipment is used, maintained, and cared for appropriately.
· Assist in evaluating future equipment needs, upgrades, and workflow improvements.
· Help document systems, procedures, and best practices to support long-term ministry success.
· Campus wide ProPresenter management and Licenses
Collaboration and Planning
· Collaborate with technical and creative staff to ensure smooth execution of services and events.
· Support special events and ministry initiatives requiring live video production expertise.
· Maintain clear communication with staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders regarding production needs and expectations.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
· Experience with live video production, switching, directing, and camera operation.
· Familiarity with ProPresenter and modern church production workflows.
· Strong leadership and volunteer development skills.
· Ability to troubleshoot technical systems calmly and effectively.
· Strong organizational, communication, and team-building abilities.
· Ability to balance creativity with consistency and ministry-focused execution.
· Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Northeast Christian Church.
· Experience with Planning Center and methods of scheduling volunteers.
