Reports to: Executive Pastor
Job Purpose:
The Worship Production Director leads all production environments across the church, creating excellent, distraction-free worship experiences that help people encounter Jesus.
This role is primarily audio-focused, with strong oversight of video, lighting, and all AVL systems across every ministry environment—from preschool to adult worship spaces. This person provides leadership for weekend services, special events, system stewardship, and volunteer development while building healthy teams and sustainable systems.
The ideal candidate combines technical excellence with pastoral leadership, leading both people and production with humility, clarity, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Audio Leadership:
- Lead all front-of-house, monitor, broadcast, and recording audio systems
- Maintain excellence in live mix quality for weekend services and special events
- Oversee system tuning, troubleshooting, wireless systems, patching, and signal flow
- Build and maintain Ableton sessions, multitracks, playback systems, and service preparation
- Support worship environments that are clear, engaging, and distraction-free
Video and Lighting Oversight:
- Oversee lighting systems, programming, and execution
- Manage video systems including IMAG, livestream, switching, and presentation software
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all production environments
- Support major events including Easter, Christmas, conferences, baptisms, and special services
Systems and Equipment Stewardship:
- Oversee AVL systems across all ministry spaces including Worship Center, Students, Kids, and Adult Ministries
- Manage equipment maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and inventory
- Build and oversee production budgets and capital planning
- Partner with Ministry Operations on facility improvements and AVL installations
Volunteer and Leadership Training:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd production volunteers
- Develop team leaders in audio, lighting, video, and stage management
- Create onboarding, training, and leadership pathways
- Build a healthy, servant-hearted volunteer culture
Ministry Collaboration:
- Partner closely with the Worship Pastor for weekend worship planning
- Support Next Gen ministries with production systems and volunteers
- Collaborate with Communications and Ministry Operations for church-wide events
Pastoral Staff Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekend services, staff meetings, and church-wide events.
- Maintain flexibility based on ministry rhythms
- Shepherd the church family in alignment with NorthField’s mission and theological values.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Executive or Lead Pastor.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in church production leadership
- Advanced audio engineering skills with FOH mixing experience
- Working knowledge of lighting, video, livestream, and AVL systems
- Experience with digital consoles, Dante, wireless systems, signal flow
- Familiarity with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton Live, Multitracks
- Strong leadership and volunteer development skills
- Spiritual maturity and alignment with church mission and values
