The Director of Weekend Experience serves as a key leader on the Mission Church team, ensuring experiences are Christ-centered, Spirit-led, and culturally accessible. This director-level leader drives worship and creative excellence across all campuses and ministries, fosters a culture of authentic worship, and equips worship leaders, musicians, and production volunteers to carry out the mission of the church.
The Director of Weekend Experience will lead the overall weekend experience (across all campuses as new campuses launch) and may or may not have an on-stage worship-leading background, but must understand all elements of the weekend service. This person will have proven abilities in leading and coaching others effectively and collaborating across a large church environment, with potential opportunity for upward mobility as personal growth and leadership impact are realized in the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Team Development and Discipleship
- Recruit, train, and shepherd worship team volunteers (musicians, vocalists, leaders).
- Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to volunteers and Production & Worship staff.
- Develop a volunteer leadership pipeline through coaching, mentoring, and ongoing training environments fit for their level of talent.
2. Worship Leadership & Oversight
- Plan and lead weekly worship preparation in partnership with the pastors and execute with worship & production coordinators.
- Lead the overall worship experience Saturday/ Sundays at the Bloomingdale Campus and provide leadership and oversight to the worship experiences at additional campuses as they launch.
- Oversee the totality of Worship & Production, including Mission Students (6-12th grade), working with Worship Staff to develop volunteers and pipeline for future leaders.
- Ensure theological alignment, artistic excellence, and spiritual vitality in all worship environments with Mission’s overall mission, vision, and values appropriately embodied within worship & production.
3. Production Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee the execution of all technical and creative aspects of worship services and special events.
- Lead and partner with the Production Coordinator to ensure a high-quality, distraction-free environment that supports the church’s mission and the unique events and environments that support it.
- Ensure that a solid and ever-increasing pipeline of production volunteers is being developed.
4. Creative Collaboration
- Partner with the Pastoral Team, Creative Team, and Worship leaders in service design, integrating music, media, and pastoral elements to create impactful experiences.
- Lead the coordination, planning, and execution of seasonal services (Easter, Christmas, Growth Track Worship) and special events.
5. Administrative and Strategic Planning
- Responsible for the planning, allocation, and oversight of a $250,000–$300,000 annual ministry budget.
- Evaluate and improve worship systems, tools, and processes across campuses.
- Maintain consistency and contextualization of worship culture across multiple sites.
- Have experience creating a high level of alignment between multiple campuses from worship and production, look, feel, flow, set list, and service elements to allow one church with multiple gatherings to be cohesive.

- Direct Reports: worship and production coordinators, volunteer worship leaders, worship interns, and worship/production volunteers.
- Collaborates With: Pastor Team, Growth Track Director, Worship & Production Team
- Leads: worship and production Coordinators to support Mission Kids and Mission Students age-based ministries.
