About
In me you will find a dedicated, faith-filled, competent and confident, enthusiastic, and charismatic church musician with over 25 years experience. You will also find someone committed to the charism and mission of Contemporary worship, where we can encounter Christ in learning from Him, living in Him, and leading others to Him. I want to join a pastoral team and church home where mission and a love of (and for) all is witnessed through transformative worship, at the heart of which is giving of ourselves, praying together, making connections, and sharing our lives and gifts with one another.
Having directed choirs, led worship from the piano, shared a message of Christ’s redeeming love from the pulpit, and cultivated worship teams that are relational as well as musical, I am uniquely qualified for this exciting role. I bring a sensitivity, detail-oriented, thoughtful, informed, and intentionality to the music I select for both the ensemble and congregation alike. I would cherish the opportunity to work hand in hand with you to select music that heightened worship based on themes, seasons, and sermon series.
A graduate of Wabash College and Butler University, both in Indiana, I collaborate creatively, effectively, and excitedly, and bring a love of worship and its power to uplift, unite, and bring us closer to Christ.
I have attached my résumé along with a link to a recent concerts of choirs I directed while teaching at a school in Maryland. Feel free to listen to a little bit to get a sense of my musicality.
I have also included a Statement of Faith. My Pastor and Spiritual Director suggested that I take time to write one - to articulate for you my beliefs and the things that move my heart and stir my spirit when it comes to my faith and my relationship to Jesus and the world around me.
I really look forward to this being the beginning of a great conversation about the possibility of me joining a church as a Worship Minister where we can worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
God’s Good Blessings,

STATEMENT OF FAITH
I am Trevor James Fanning, and I am humbled to share my Statement of Faith with you - who and what I believe in. Central and at the core of my beliefs is in the one living and true God as experienced in the Trinity of Father, Son, and Spirit. As the Son of God, Jesus Christ was born, suffered, died, and rose again on the third day to reconcile humanity to God through His great Atonement: dying on the cross to pay for human sins. And because of His resurrection, all of humanity has the chance for eternal life. Every human being has the opportunity to be resurrected. This concept of Salvation by Grace, an expression of God's love received through faith, results in my desire to live justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. (Micah 6:8) As a person entrusted to be that expression of God's love is manifested best in service to and with others. When we are in service to others, when we are Christ for others, then we are living as Jesus’ disciples in the world. And as disciples we are called to make more disciples, who in turn make more disciples. By making disciples of the people in our life and in the world we encounter, we are sharing our deepest self so that others can witness the transformative grace and love of Jesus in their lives. Opportunities to share our gifts and talents, and experiences, make a difference in the lives of others. When others are transformed by the love of God in Christ Jesus, we are transformed too.
That transformation leads to the Christian concept of "Living in the Overflow" which drives my spirit and my heart. This gift of experiencing God's blessings, peace, and provision so abundantly that my life is filled beyond capacity and spills over to bless others, directs my thoughts, actions, relationships, and goals. It shows up when I practice abundance over scarcity, spiritual fullness, and generosity towards others. And I live it out by shifting my thoughts away from worry and focusing on gratitude, spending significant time in prayer and staying present in faith, and sharing freely with others by using my extra time, kindness, and resources to uplift the people around me.
And I express all of this by my presence in Worship, as both leader and congregant. Worship is the ultimate expression of God's Kingdom on Earth. And worship extends beyond Sunday services; it is a way of life. Connection and communion, and compassion and commitment shape worship in both formal gatherings and informal conversation, care and concern shown to others, and relationships built on faith and love.
I live in faith everyday, and seek to express it in every way.
