POSITION

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Video Lead will be accountable to the Production Director and will work closely with the full production team.

LIVE VIDEO PRODUCTION & POST PRODUCTION
- Champion a distraction-free, excellence-driven live video environment that supports worship, preaching, and the overall mission of Centerpoint Church
- Establish and maintain broadcast-quality standards for live-capture and post-production processes across all Centerpoint venues
- Collaborate with Worship, Communications, and Production leaders to align visual storytelling with sermon series, special events, and seasonal experiences
- Develop and document standardized workflows for file capture, file management, editing, and distribution
- Develop, document, and implement redundancy systems and contingency plans for live moments
- Act as director, producer, or technical director as needed for live experiences
- Design, set up, calibrate, and operate professional video equipment, including cameras and video switchers, ensuring high-quality broadcast standards
- Manage content editing and post-production workflows for live event capture, including weekend services, seek night, and other core live experience gatherings
- Manage the archiving of footage related to live experience gatherings
- Edit and prepare live event files for distribution to the website, YouTube, audio podcast, and other channels as needed
LIGHTING
- Collaborate with the Worship Pastor, Creative Director, and other creative team members to design lighting schemes that enhance the overall worship experience.
- Operate and maintain all lighting equipment, including fixtures, consoles, and preset panels.
- Program and execute lighting cues and sequences for services and events, ensuring smooth transitions and dynamic visual effects.
- Experience with programming to timecode preferred
LIVE STREAMING
- Manage streaming setup, scheduling, and naming (Currently Resi) for Church Online, Facebook, and YouTube
- Monitor stream health, troubleshooting issues in real time to ensure a distraction-free online experience
- Work with the Communications team and Online Hosting team to track and evaluate streaming metrics (Views, durations, engagement, drop-off points, etc.) and implement improvements
- Optimize encoding, bitrate, and platform settings to maintain high online broadcast quality
- Collaborate with production staff on other gear, including audio mixers and lighting equipment that affect the delivery of live streaming content
- Develop, document, and implement contingency plans for streaming failures, including backup systems and rapid response protocols.
GEAR & VIDEO WALL
- Maintain and manage Live Video gear, including switchers, cameras, projectors, and the LED Walls across Centerpoint venues
- Maintain inventory and lifecycle planning for all live video and LED Wall equipment
- Proactively assess gear needs with the Production Director and submit budget proposals for upgrades and replacements
- Oversee installation, configuration, and optimization of LED wall content workflows
- Ensure proper cable management, labeling, storage, and system organization
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance both live experiences and live stream experiences
- Provide AVL support for all Centerpoint venues as needed
VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING
- Schedule Video Support required for live All-church experiences, including Camera Operators and Video Switchers (Currently through the Planning Center Platform)
- Train/develop all live video volunteers
- Build a clear training pathway for Camera Operators, Switchers, and Technical Directors
- Identify and develop team leads to strengthen leadership depth within the video ministry
- Interface and direct volunteer teams, be an encourager, and teach, build, and invest in the volunteers
- Lead and manage the technical growth and development of the production team and staff as needed, as it relates to live-video capture and production processes
- Partner with the Production Director to ensure volunteer health, retention, and growth
- Provide supervision, support, and training to Production Team staff and volunteers, and champion a high level of excellence and production execution for all experiences
- Assist with the development of photography/video volunteers across Centerpoint Teams
- Ensure that all video team volunteers are live-scanned as needed
POSITION EXPECTATIONS TIME WEEKLY TIME EXPECTATIONS:
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. Work schedule may fluctuate according to live event schedules. This position requires Sunday availability.
STAYING CURRENT
This position requires intentional effort to stay current with emerging tech, software & hardware resources, and industry standards and practices. This includes a level of mastery that can provide training to others and provide innovative input into program design elements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This individual must be competent in technical aspects of audio, lighting, and video, with an emphasis on live broadcast, video post-production, and editing. They must have the ability to recruit, train, and manage teams of volunteers. They should have a professional demeanor, leadership capacity, and administrative skills. They must be committed to the vision of Centerpoint Church. Must be willing to work as a team with all staff to accomplish the overall vision of the church.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, listen, and talk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to grab, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee will sometimes need to help move cards and tables, life boxes, and bins with weights of up to 50lbs.
